Google has decided to transfer the Google My Business section entirely to Google Maps. Your Google My Business account will now be called Google Business Profile and will otherwise remain untouched. The Google My Business app will be discontinued, the functionality will be integrated into the Google Maps app, while nothing will change in the listing and rating situation on Google Maps; not even visually.
What is new, then, is that the management of company data will take place via the Business Profile Manager and thus directly via Google Search or Google Maps. A Google My Business website or application is therefore no longer needed. The registration and verification of the account are solved directly via Search and Maps and the process leading to a Google entry is thus significantly simplified - for smaller as well as larger companies.
Another innovation is that branches near the searching customer are displayed, which have the product in stock. So it will soon be fun for the customer to select products in Google Search or on Google Maps if he or she knows that they are available - yet another reason to use this free tool for your business.
So, in general terms, we are talking about a name change: the new "Google Business Profile" and a simplification of processes that puts the user-friendliness of the evaluation management on Google in the first place.
So that you too can set up or add to the Google Business Profile for your company, we have created a short guide for you. You can find it on our website and we would appreciate your feedback on it.
